The first stage of construction of a fibre-optic communication line (FOCL) has been completed at the Krymsky – Afipsky section of communication centres in the North Caucasus branch of Svyaztransneft (Novorossiysk).
The construction was carried out from October 2017 in difficult geological conditions on the territory of Krymsky, Abinsky and Seversky Districts of Krasnodar Territory. The total length of the new fibre-optic communication line is 95 km. More than 50% of the cable’s route is laid using the trenchless method with horizontal directional drilling.
During the construction and installation works, 10 control and monitoring stations for line telemetry of Chernomortransneft were connected to digital communication channels. The new section of the trunk line closed the optical ring of the transportation network of the North Caucasus branch, which increased the reliability of communication channels of Chernomortransneft’s oil trunk pipelines’ control systems.
Completion of the second phase of the FOCL’s construction at the Krymsky – Afipsky communication centres section is planned for November 2019. Commissioning of the new FOCL will provide Chernomortransneft’s consumers with high-speed digital channels of operational and technological communication.
