A fibre-optic communications link connecting Chernushka and Kaltasy has been put into operation at Svyaztransneft's Ural branch (Ufa).
The link was built as part of the technical upgrading and revamping programme implemented in Kuyedinsky and Chernushinsky Districts of Perm Region and in Kaltasinsky, Yanaulsky and Tatyshlinsky Districts of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
From April 2017 to October 2018, more than 120 km of fibre-optic cable was laid along the Chernushka – Kaltasy oil trunk pipeline within the section from Chernushka oil pumping station to Kaltasy line operation dispatcher station (LODS).
Eight offshoots leading from the trunk communication link to the control and monitoring stations of the oil trunk pipeline were built. New equipment was installed and mounted. A high-speed transmission system and a routed data transmission network with a bandwidth of 1 Gbit per second were arranged for transmission of signals from automated plant control systems.
The new fibre-optic communications link provides for channel redundancy and ensures their high traffic capacity as well as reliability of linear and station-level telemetry. Upon commissioning of the facility, the needs of Transneft Urals oil trunk pipeline in high-speed channels have been satisfied at the level of all the divisions of the oil trunk pipeline.
