Svyaztransneft Finishes Technical Upgrading of Communication Networks at Transneft Urals Facilities

Date of publication: 23 October 2018 Print

In the Ural branch of Svyaztransneft (Ufa) operational and technological data transmission network has been commissioned, covering six line operation dispatcher stations (LODS) and two oil pumping stations (PS) of Transneft Urals located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Chelyabinsk and Kurgan Regions.

The works began in March 2018 as part of the technical upgrading programme. Within the project implementation, onsite fiber-optic networks were commissioned at each of the eight operational facilities of the petroleum products trunk pipelines, their length totalling 10 km.

The organised data transmission network will provide automation, telemetry and remote-control systems with two independent communication channels from onsite facility to communication centre, as well as high-speed communication channels with 1 Gbit/s delivery capacity for the local area network needs.

As a result of the construction, reserving communication channels of the station telemetry became possible, which is necessary for the operation of the centralised emergency control automation system (CECAS) at the Nurlino – Leninsk and Yurgamysh – Leninsk process sections.
