In the Baikal Region Branch of Svyaztransneft, JSC New Communication Systems have been Built in the Framework of Increasing the ESPO Capacity

New communication hubs (CH) have been built at three OPS’s as well as three earth stations for satellite communication (ESSC) have been installed to ensure communication for control over the operation of the pipeline. At eight radio relay stations, additional equipment has been installed. Also, a lead away line was constructed from the trunk digital microwave relay line (DMRL) at the administrative and residential building (ARB) section of Bratsk-Rostelecom. This enabled to meet the needs for the unified information system of Transneft in high-speed channels for all the services at the newly commissioned facilities of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil trunk pipeline.

A reliable high-speed communication has been established for all subsystems of Transneft Vostok, including channels for a dedicated network of automatic telephone and dispatch communication, meetings, leak detection systems, linear and station telemechanics, mobile radio communication, video telephone and video conferencing networks, technical support security facilities, etc.

The redundancy of communication systems is provided through existing ESPO-1 DMRL and through the established ESSC. In the event of a failure in the main network, the data transmission system automatically switches to a duplicate satellite communication channel and operates in a standby mode until the normal operation of the damaged section is restored.

Equipment control and network monitoring are conducted from operator workstations at new communication centers, as well as from the regional control center of the Baikal Region branch (Bratsk) and the main control center of Svyaztransneft (Moscow), which allows to expeditiously resolve any operational Issues and support the work of all communication systems.
