Construction of the line started in April 2017; 223 km of fiber cable will be laid in Leningrad Region, 23 km in Saint-Petersburg. The works are conducted as part of the technical upgrading programme for servicing three petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTP) Kstovo - Yaroslavl - Kirishi - Primorsk, Krasny Bor - Pulkovo and Kirishi - Krasny Bor of Transneft Baltic.
At the present time 54 km of fiber-optic cable (FOC) with capacity of 48 fibers have been laid. 19 equipment sets for organizing communication and data transmission networks and the same number of power supply plants at telemechanics control points (TCP) were assembled. The specialists will assemble another 22 communication equipment sets and the same number of power supply plants. Besides, assembly of equipment of the transportation network SDH and DWDM, climatic control system plants is conducted at three communication centres. Microcellular communication device DECT is being assembled with organizing an on-site communication network.
Commissioning of the new FOCL at the section Kirishi PEPS - Krasny Bor - Pulkovo oil depot will provide Transneft Baltic with high-speed broadband industrial-engineering communication channels. Modern multiservice communication services with a possibility to reserve communication channels for the regional control centre (RCC) of Transneft Baltic and telemechanics control point (TCP) of the section Kirishi - Krasny Bor of Kstovo - Yaroslavl - Kirishi - Primorsk PPTP will be provided. The equipment of the new communication network is connected to the unified control and monitoring system (UCMS) of Svyaztransneft (Moscow).
The new fiber-optic communication line at the section Kirishi PEPS - Krasny Bor - Pulkovo oil depot is planned to be commissioned in April 2018.
