 On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, Svyaztransneft, JSC held a traditional meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home-front workers who are living in Moscow and the Moscow Region. Employees of the executive office visited the home-front veterans Vladimir Yevteyev, Anna Antonova, Nadezhda Olkhovskaya, Aleksandra Kutsaeva and war veteran Aleksandr Andreyev and gave them gifts.

During a special event with voluntary participation, company employees collected a total of 171,000 rubles. In accordance with the wishes of the veterans, the collected funds were used to buy home appliances (TV sets, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, and kettles).

A large volume of work toward the anniversary of the Victory was carried out in 13 branches of the company. To date, the list of Svyaztransneft, JSC contains 111 war veterans, home-front workers, blockade survivors, and juvenile prisoners of concentration camps. Young Professional Councils of branches of the company are actively involved in honoring veterans. Thus, the Baikal Region Industrial Communication Department (the City of Bratsk) acquired certificates for the purchase of medicines. Major household appliances were given to the veterans by the youth of the North Caucasus Industrial Communication Department (the City of Novorossiysk). The young professionals of the Oka Region Industrial Communication Department (the City of Ryazan) visited 11 combatants and home-front workers and presented them with holiday packages. Memorable addresses with gifts were delivered to the veterans of the Upper Volga branch (the City of Yaroslavl).

The team of the Middle Ob Industrial Communication Department (the City of Surgut) took part in the memory watch. Despite the fact that the branch has no surviving combatants and home-front workers, employees of the department have visited the veterans in the village of Bely Yar for seven consecutive years. On May 5 and May 3, the communicators gave gifts to 30 veterans from the village.

For years, the personnel of the seventh shop of telecommunications of the Upper Volga Industrial Communication Department has landscaped the monument to the Hero Tankers near the village of Terebutitsy in the Shimsky District of the Novgorod Region. During the war, hundreds of soldiers who died in battle were buried there.

In the mass grave near the village of Stolbovo in the Nevelsk District of the Pskov Region, soldier Vasily Anufrievich Kudryavtsev, who is the grandfather of Aleksey Smirnov, an engineer of the telecommunication shop No. 9 of the same branch, was buried. Every year, Aleksey and his colleagues perform landscaping of the monument on the eve of the Victory Day.

The festive events that are dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory will not end after May 9. In the regions, the veterans will take part in the first stage of the «Best Professional» contest held by Svyaztransneft, JSC as guests of honor.
